Holy moly it’s August you guys. Kids are back in school and Fall is right around the corner. This Summer has literally gone by in a blink. I have been working a very special project for the past few months so I haven’t been able to work on designing as many patterns as I typically like to. But I was able to find a bit of time to work on this simple and fun crochet bag pattern. I will be announcing my special project along with a giveaway in the coming weeks!

Construction

Mary Maxim

This bag has a very simple construction with no seams! You will start at the bottom and work your way up in the round. The bottom is made up of single crochets & double crochets so that nothing falls out. The lace section is then worked which is made of an easy 2 row repeat. I would recommend lining the bag if you intend to keep small things in it otherwise they will fall out of the lace section. The straps are worked by making chains to the desired length and slip stitching to the opposite end and then working a few rows of single crochets.

Yarn

For this project I used We Crochet’s Billow. Billow is a Bulky weight 5, 100% cotton yarn. I love the composition of this yarn, it’s perfect for crochet accessories. The yarn and a thick and thin stranded yarn and so soft and cozy. I think the thick and thin aspect gives great definition to lace stitches. 240 yards is plenty of yarn for this project. We Crochet has a beautiful range of natural and moody colors to choose from.
